D&I Officer Framework

Is your chapter considering adding an Officer position focused on diversity and inclusion, or could you use some ideas for outreach to and events with other student organizations? Start here!

  • Foster awareness of D&I within the chapter - see conversation starters here

  • Introduce GIS to and serve as a liaison with other student organizations, majors, and academic departments on campus as well as the Career Center

  • Invite other student groups and majors to chapter events; provide industry context and show how insurance is everywhere with a brief presentation

  • Coordinate with other groups on campus for joint events - see event ideas here

  • Plan D&I-focused chapter events - use the packaged events as ideas

  • Invite industry speakers with diverse backgrounds/functional areas and/or speakers to address the importance of D&I in the industry

  • Share D&I-related opportunities with members (resources, scholarships, conferences, etc.)

  • Participate in and/or help to plan D&I-focused events on campus

  • Engage with the GammaSAID Council

  • Reference the Unique Week guidelines for other ideas
