• The Annual Management Conference was first held in 1973.  Since then, many of the local chapters have hosted the conference at least once. The Annual Management Conference is sponsored by the Grand Chapter for the training of collegiate chapter officers and is a chance for collegiate members to interact with Industry Representatives and network with fellow members. The conference is hosted each year by a collegiate chapter that has submitted the accepted bid.  This Year the conference is Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, 2010.   • As the fraternity grew and matured, the Grand Chapter realized, many chapters were developing exceptional programs.  It was felt these efforts should be appropriately encouraged, as they were basic and vital to the growing professional stature of Gamma Iota Sigma.  To help guide each collegiate chapter towards improving thier performance the Grand Chapter create several awards and scholarships.   • The Gamma Iota Sigma Endowment was established in 1998, in recognition of the need for GIS to build a stronger financial base to carry out its purpose to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and by fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public relations.Your donations to the GIS Endowment will enable GIS to allocate more financial resources in support of scholarships, speakers at the Annual Conference, student attendee support at the Annual Conference, and other mission-related initiatives.
