The Gamma Iota Sigma Endowments were established, in recognition of the need for GIS to build a stronger financial base to carry out its purpose to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and by fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public relations.Your donations to the GIS Endowment will enable GIS to allocate more financial resources in support of scholarships, speakers at the Annual Conference, student attendee support at the Annual Conference, and other mission-related initiatives.

A GIFT FOR GROWTH 

The Fraternity has a bold vision for reaching out to our student members and alumni.  Our board wants to attract the “best and brightest” to our conferences and other gatherings.  In 2009 the Endowment reached the $40,000 mark in contributions from members and alumni.  If we can continue to raise $50,000 per year from our members, chapters, and supporters, we will be in an excellent position to approach major funders for more support.  Won’t you join with us in this effort? Please consider donating at least $100 over the next year to Gamma Iota Sigma, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is an investment of less than nine dollars per month over a year (or 37 cents per day).  If you live in the United States, your contribution is tax-deductible. 

- Networking is essential for any corporate setting.  The Fraternity initiates communication links across multidisciplinary, national, and international lines for us to better support each other. In essence, our individual successes are rooted in the continuing groundwork laid by Gamma Iota Sigma.  The fraternity is counting on your gift to expand its outreach and impact.
